Dick Syn was born in the fast paced New York City, a city known as The Big Apple. While growing up, he excelled at sports and due to his size and strength, he was seldom beaten at his game. As he grew older, Dick began traveling extensively and met up with a guy who introduced himself as Stoney Catcherye. They were at a club in Portland, Maine and it took Stone about 7 or 8 attempts to teach Dick how to say his last name. The two became inseparable after that meeting yet soon after, Stone moved away to Connecticut.

Within months Dick was travelling again and found a nice place of his own in Connecticut, right down the street from Stone Catcherye. They played together in a couple of bands and became pretty well known in their area, always ending up on local TV, or in the newspaper with their incredible and raw live show. It was then that danger and excitement found it's way into the air, when Dick & Stone began playing as an acoustic duo under the name Rums & Bumbletons. A term they use to describe their personalities. This forced Stone Catcherye & Dick Syn to create what would be the most important factor in their careers, Rums & Bumbletons.

Rums & Bumbletons are an endless source of original music and have been since their inception when Stone Catcherye and his good friend Dick Syn began creating music. The contrasting styles of Catcherye and Syn leaves them with a million paths to explore, drawing from their early musical inspirations of blues, metal, rock, hip hop, oldies and do-wop, they began to create their own sound, a variant of their inspirations.

It was soon apparent to this songwriting team that they needed a full band to accomplish what they wanted to do. There were two line-ups between the years of 1993 and 2001 and between them there were a number of shows where they won over new fans and sold the audiences on their infused style of inspiration.

Then tragedy struck . . .

The bass player and long-time dear friend of the band, J. "Jawbreaker" French died unexpectedly.

Rums & Bumbletons disbanded abruptly and Dick Syn found himself traveling again, this time to the city of Las Vegas, Sin City, or in this case, Syn City. The second day of his stay Syn spotted his farotive magician Criss Angel on the strip and asked him kindly for an autograph, only it wasn't Criss Angel, it was a man who worked as a stunt double, a drummer by the name of Delphi Finn.

Originally from Tramali, a small island, Delphi found himself traveling with a circus as the drummer and apprentice knife thrower. Once in Vegas he quit the circus and began work as a look-alike stunt double and negotiations expert, from his former experience in the foreign legion. It was 4 months to the day when Dick Syn asked him for his autograph on the strip and after the initial meeting and the 4 hour jam session that followed, they were inseparable, even becoming roommates and beginning their own band. Their band enjoyed some success but also came to an end with Dick and Delphi knowing that they needed to find something to hone their talents.

It was October and Dick Syn found himself back on the East Coast in Connecticut but this time he brought back his new friend Delphi Finn, who also had ties in Connecticut. The two went to see Tool playing in the next state over. The show was sold out and they got separated but knew to meet back up at the car. Delphi somehow, in the sea of people ran into Stone Catcherye, whom he had met once before at a party with Dick. Catcherye and Finn both went back to meet up with Syn at the car and decided to regroup.

The new line-up included drummer Delphi Finn, who brings in even more diversity to their style and a drumming that really compliments the songs. Stone's cousin K. Ellavalled joined Rums in 2007 as the bass player. Within months of reforming, Rums & Bumbletons found themselves opening up for Blind Melon in Hartford, CT and then picking up a little bit of ahead of where they had left off when they had last disbanded.

2010 began with an official cd release by Rums & Bumbletons called, "Ahrenbe", a word Stone creolized from the band's anagram,R&B. The cd became available at over 20 online retailers including i-Tunes, Amazon and cdBaby and have sold like hotcakes at their live shows.

Then, just as they were set to return to the studio to work on new material, their bass player K. Ellavalled decided to leave the band. Delphi turned Kram onto the deadly art of knife throwing and soon his passion for cold hard steel surpassed that of the bass. He left for the Sin City and is now the knife hurling attraction audiences from all over the world come to see. Syn & Catcherye, had amassed a pile of material and decided to press forward with their recording along with Delphi Finn, with bass duties placed upon the shoulders of Dick Syn until they could find time to audition someone to fill the open spot.

Rums & Bumbletons are currently working in the studio and rehearsing for some dates they have booked for spring of 2011, including an appearance on the Scott Haney Show on CBS on May 13. The anticipation for live shows is already knocking down their doors and their inspiration is full on.
